This is a question of utmost importance. The Bible clearly states that “all have sinned and come short of the glory of God” and “there is not a just man upon earth that doeth good and sinneth not”. You cannot ignore sin or you will die in your sin and wake up in hell. So the single most important issue between sinful man and a Holy God is the forgiveness of sin for the Bible says “What shall it profit a man if he should gain the whole world and lose his own soul”.

So what washes away sin? Is it the waters of baptism? No. Is it a religious ritual? No. Is it church membership? No. Is it giving money to the poor? No. It is faith in the Blood of Jesus Christ. Romans 3:24-25 says “Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God:”

Colossians 1:14 says “In whom we have redemption through his blood even the forgiveness of sins:”, and I John 1:7 says “and the blood of Jesus Christ his son cleanseth us from all sin.” I Peter 1:2 says “Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ:”  and verses 18 and 19 “forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers: But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:”.

Christ bore your sins in his body on the tree when he died on the cross for your sin. When the Roman soldier pierced his side with a spear his blood was shed, and John the Baptist’s proclamation was fulfilled when he said “Behold the Lamb of God, that taketh away the sin of the world.” Forsake all other hope and trust completely that the Blood that Jesus shed for your sin will wash away  your sin and call on Jesus Christ to save you today!

    • Thank you for your words of encouragement. Early in my ministry God let me know that one of the most important things for me to do was to be a blessing to the brethren. fell free to use any material that you feel will be a blessing to your people.
